It pays to have a variety of methods at hand for loading a side-by-side. You
never know what the situation is going to be. This one is farily easy,
but takes some practice to become proficient. This technique is demonstrated
assuming that the shooter is right handed. It will work equally well for
a left handed shooter.
When this technique is mastered, it is possible to fire 6 shots in 6 seconds.
Dummy shells were used for this example. When practicing, make sure
that there is no live ammunition in the area.
- With the shotgun shouldered and the left hand on the forearm holding it shouldered,
pull 2 shells with the right hand.

- Slap the shells down on the extractor. This will line them up to the chambers.
Insert them into the chambers.

- Aim and fire both shells.

- Break open the shotgun and with the left hand shuck out the shells, at the
same time, pull the next 2 shells with the right hand. After the shells are shucked,
get the stock shouldered while you get ready to load the next 2.

- Repeat.
