Now that you've seen the video clips, you're probably wondering what I'm using for guns. The guns in the Stage Run are different from what I'm shooting now. These are all 357 in caliber and:
Blued Ruger Vaquero's with the following changes:
- Polished the back of the front sight to make it quicker to pick up.
- Deepen and widen the back sight to make it easier to find the front.
- Hone and polish the chambers for speedier reloads.
- 3-click Modification on the stock parts (half cock), and weld up the hammer and remove transfer bar.
- Set the trigger pull to 1 pound.
- Install a lighter mainspring for easier cocking, but not so light that I don’t catch it while re-cocking the gun.
- Install a set of Eagle Gunfighter grips to better fit my hands.
- Polish all internal parts for smoother action.
- Turn barrel and file front sight for POA adjustment with my loads.
- Install the Brownells Round Hammer Strut to improve lock time.
- Pin the trigger to reduce the forward and back movement.
- Install hammer stops so the hammer doesn't move much past the full cock position<.
Uberti Winchester '73 with the following changes:
- All internal parts smoothed for better operation.
- Trigger pull reduced to 2 pounds and creep removed.
- Cody Conagher Short Stroke as part of the action job.
- Recrown the barrel to improve accuracy and smoke dispersion.
- The mainspring was replaced with a lighter one, but not too light so the lock time is still quick.
- The lever safety spring was removed.
- The lever was wrapped in leather.
- An inch removed from the stock for easier access to the lever.
- Marbles Flat Top rear sight.
SKB Model 150
- 26 inch stock barrels chocked imp cyl and mod.
- Intertial trigger mechanism lightened.
- Stock cut with a recoil pad installed. LOP at 12 7/8.
- Very little action work. Just some smoothing done. Springs are all stock.
